It is often defined by the<strong> Body Mass Index<\/strong> (BMI) and in addition, by cardiovascular risk factors and other anthropometric indicators. Although etiology is still being researched, a large percentage of obesity is attributed to <strong>diet<\/strong> and <strong>physical activity<\/strong>. A small percentage is attributed to genetic predisposition or other diseases. Decisive factors, however, regardless of the presence or absence of the former, are <strong>social influences<\/strong> and various <strong>psychological factors.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Judging from our professional experience, obese people often appear to have health problems,<br \/>\nsuch as\u00a0<strong>diabetes<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>cardiovascular disease<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>hypertension<\/strong>. Another key dimension of the problem is that feelings of shame and anxiety make these people introverted, isolating them socially resulting in them experiencing an emotional impasse.<\/p>\n<p>Judging from our professional experience, obese people often appear to have health problems such as <strong>diabetes<\/strong>, <strong>cardiovascular disease<\/strong> and <strong>hypertension<\/strong>. Another fact is that due to repeated restrictive diets their <strong>metabolism has been disturbed<\/strong>. Another key dimension of the problem is that feelings of <strong>shame<\/strong> and <strong>anxiety<\/strong> make these people introverted, isolating them socially resulting in them experiencing an emotional <strong>impasse<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Obesity is both a physical and a psychological condition, which is why obese people need <strong>comprehensive treatment<\/strong>. Nutritionally, the overall picture is assessed after a detailed examination of the <strong>medical history<\/strong>, <strong>eating habits<\/strong> of the individual, and <strong>anthropometric indicators<\/strong> by a collaborating specialized nutritionist. A plan is designed together with the individual exclusively based on their own needs and adapted to their own habits. On the level of psychotherapy, through individual or group sessions, individuals address issues such as negative body image, low self-esteem and self-esteem, management of beliefs and behaviors and the development of new skills.
