Dimitrios Petsios is a Clinical Dietitian-Sports Nutritionist with a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders.
Petsios Dimitrios graduated from the Department of Dietetics-Nutrition Science of Harokopio University in 2003. Along with the launch of his professional career, he continued his academic career in the same University as the two -year postgraduate program of sports and nutrition (MSc) where he excelled, receiving two consecutive excellence awards in the scientific fields of Ergometry, Ergosiology, Biochemistry and Biochemistry Energy metabolism and body composition, nutritional support, nutrition in championships and other classes.
At the same time, he collaborated on a private level with the Associate Professor of Dietetics Lambros Syntosis and the Lecturer of Occupational Physiology and Sports Nutrition Education, Stavros Kavouras, gaining important knowledge and experience regarding the scientific support of athletes as well as the application of the Cognitive Behavioral Modification (C.B.T.) Model, especially in children.
Since then he has participated in a multitude of scientific conferences of health, nutrition, exercise, psychology and more. He also creates workshops in schools, cultural centers, multi-learning spaces and conferences but also appears as a speaker at seminars and news broadcast, on the subject of nutrition in many TV channels.
So far, he has an academic publication of original research in an international scientific journal of food chemistry and an announcement at the Greek Conference of Lipidiology and Atherosclerosis.
At the same time, he co-authored with George Milesis the nutrition manual for first school-age children entitled “Nutritional Reading” which was distributed free of charge in 14,000 copies to all public elementary schools in Athens.
Dimitris is a regular collaborator in prestigious scientific journals, newspapers, sports magazines, websites and health and nutrition magazines, having published over 200 original articles.
In 2014, he won the first prize in an innovation competition for the creation of an interactive, dietary application for mobile phones, with the title “DietAthlon” and on 29/11/15 he was a distinguished speaker at the 13th Panhellenic Conference of Dietetics-Nutrition at the round table on “Technology in the “Service of Dietetics”.
From 2014 to 2018 he undertook the development and execution of a private interactive education program – through a fruit distribution company in all primary schools of Athens (25000 preschool children in total), with the aim of consuming 5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day (EUFIC standards)
In 2017, he was a member of the Organizing Committee of the 14th Panhellenic Dietetics-Nutrition Conference, presiding over a round table of free announcements and a Sports Nutrition clinical tutorial.
In 2018, he completed the continuing education class of the NCfED for the treatment of patients with eating disorders (e.g. bulimia, anorexia) with the title of Master Practitioner.
Finally, in 2022 Dimitris Petsios scientifically edited and co-authored together with Chef Ilias Mamalakis (in collaboration with the University Clinic of Oncology and Gastroenterology of PEPAGNI, University Hospital of Crete) the first nutrition and cooking manual in Greece for oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy entitled: DELICIOUS RECIPES that love the gut of people with neoplasm”.
In 2022, Dimitris Petsios scientifically edited and co-authored together with chef Ilias Mamalakis (in collaboration with the University of PEPAGNI, University Hospital of Crete), the first nutrition and cooking manual in Greece for oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy entitled: “Delicious recipes that love the gut of people with neoplasm. “
