Coaches
Psychology of sport is the understanding of how the mind influences the athlete’s performance in their sport. Understanding its importance is essential to achieving better results. Often, however, coaches find the issue discouraging. The psychology of sports is not just a field of a sports psychologist; there are many aspects that coaches can also become very effective for the benefit of athletes and their team.
In our collaboration with the coaches, our goal is to focus on the relationship they create with their athletes and with the team as a whole. Through understanding the behavioral patterns of their athletes and their individual personalities, we improve communication between them by building an effective context for all. Creating a strong relationship between coach and athletes leads to improved athlete self-evaluation levels, reduced stress, more meaningful self-understanding and the development of emotional resilience. Training in techniques such as effective feedback, goal setting, internal dialogue and visualization, helps coaches develop their own skills and become better suited to teach their athletes these critical skills in sports psychology so that they can improve their performance in competitions.
