He was born in Poros, Troizinia and grew up in Athens.
He graduated from the Medical School of Thessaloniki in 1988. He specialized in Psychiatry at the University Psychiatric Clinic of Aeginethe Hospital.
Since then, he has been working at the ATHINA Addiction Treatment Program of the 1st Psychiatric Clinic of Aeginethe Hospital and OKANA (Organization Against Drugs).
He has had a 4-year training in systemic family therapy and participates as a family therapist in the family and couple therapy clinic of the First Psychiatric University Clinic.
He teaches in educational programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level, mainly around issues of addictions (alcoholism), psychiatric comorbidity and psychotherapy.
He has made numerous announcements at Greek and international psychiatric conferences, publications in scientific journals as well as written chapters in 8 Greek and 3 foreign language Psychiatric scientific books.
He has been dealing with ADHD diagnostically and therapeutically for about 15 years, through the ATHINA addiction program and contact with addicts
He is a member of the Hellenic Psychiatric Association (EPSE), the Hellenic Society of Systemic Thinking and Psychotherapy (EESSKEPSO), the ITACA union (European Association of Workers in the field of addiction) as well as the Hellenic Forensic Psychiatric Association (EPSDE).
